Annual discharge & monitoring reports
Each year Sellafield Ltd produces a report summarising the previous year's discharges and results from the environmental monitoring programme. The report covers both of Sellafield Ltd's operational sites - Sellafield and Capenhurst.
The report provides summaries of radioactive and non-radioactive discharges (aerial and liquid) and disposals of solid waste against limits stipulated by the Radioactive Substances Act authorisations and Environmental Permit. It also presents the results of the environmental monitoring that takes place on site and around West Cumbria. The data from discharges and environmental monitoring are then used to calculate the dose received by the critical groups (those that receive the highest dose as a result of their location and habits).
