Sellafield Ltd is constantly striving for the highest possible standards in all areas of our corporate responsibility.
We have a long history of supporting our local communities. Working with the NDA our socio-economic plans encourage employee involvement in local activities, charitable donation schemes and inward investment. We have also used our influence to attract new funding in the region.
Cheque handover to North West Air Ambulance
Sellafield Ltd employees based at our Risley site have voted for the North West Air Ambulance as their Charity of the Year for 2009 and have just handed over two cheques totalling £11,000.
The money raised was the culmination of various fundraising efforts, helped by individuals based in the Hinton House offices during 2009.
Graham Maxwell, who originally put the charity forward, is an Ambassador for the North West Air Ambulance and also managed to persuade his colleagues at Costain to contribute to the funds as well.
From the sale of merchandise, through to cake sales, sponsored cycle events and triathlons, the team managed to raise a staggering £11,283.92 – which included £2009 in match-funding from Sellafield Ltd.
Everyone in Hinton House who contributed to this massive total deserves a big pat on the back. Well done!!
