Store team takes pride in 11-year safety record
THE Miscellaneous Beta Gamma Waste Store (MBGWS) continues its impressive safety record as it passes the 11 year mark and maintains its perfect run without a Loss Time Accident.
The store provides safe and secure storage for intermediate level waste and is the sole facility of its type in the country. By packing different types, sizes and shapes of materials the team minimise the volume of waste, before placing them into a temperature and humidity controlled store.
Manufacturing manager Geoff Freeman congratulated the team on another year, adding: “I believe our success has been built on a deeply embedded safety culture in which every team member takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and healthy working environment.
“In a plant where the mainstream of the work is mechanical handling everyone takes great care to ensure the safety of their team-mates, themselves and their plant. Congratulations to everyone who works in the Miscellaneous Beta Gamma Waste Store for their fantastic achievement.”
Environmental Health, Safety and Quality Director, Dave Mason, added: “All material properly controlled and contained and an excellent industrial safety record – well done all.”
