Capenhurst nominated for safety award
Capenhurst's 'Safety First' approach toward the workplace is not only reaping rewards on site but is getting them noticed outside the nuclear profession for their commitment to safety.
SHP magazine, the official magazine the Chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, has shortlisted Capenhurst for the 'best health and safety achievement in manufacturing' award.
Transition and stakeholder manager Andrew Hine was happy to receive the nomination. "We are proud of our 'Safety First' initiative and the way that it is being led by our own safety representatives," he said. "It is excellent that all groups, including the contracting community, are being engaged in the safety themes, many of which are not only informative but also highly enjoyable.
"To have been shortlisted for one of the 2007 SHP awards is wonderful recognition for the safety rep team and the site as a whole."
The inaugural award ceremony for the magazine, which has over 30,000 readers nationwide, will be held on October 2 at the Park Lane Hilton, London.
