Tanner?s triumph
Sellafield’s Steve Tanner was jubilant at scooping the best Young Purchasing and Supply Management Professional of the Year award at an award ceremony in London.
The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) Supply Management Awards 2007 saw Sellafield Ltd nominated in five catergories, with Steve taking one of the most prestigious on offer.
The awards are designed to celebrate and reward excellence in the field of purchasing and supply management.
Head of Acquisition Management, Vic Carlill, said: “A nationally accredited award is an excellent achievement.”
Shortlisted in five catergories overall, Robert Astall was represented in the category of Purchasing and Supply Management Professional of Year. Meanwhile, nominations were also gained in best contribution to corporate responsibility, best public procurement project, and through its onsite subcontractor management process, best process improvement initiative.
The awards, run jointly by CIPS and its fortnightly magazine, Supply Management, were held at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane.
