Sellafield Ltd helps replenish stolen toys at Warrington Hospital

This year, instead of sending Christmas cards, Sellafield Ltd has donated £500 worth of goods to the Children’s Ward at Warrington Hospital.

Representatives from the company recently read in the The Warrington Guardian about the plight of the Children’s Ward when their playroom was broken into and games and toys were stolen or left damaged.

In response, Sellafield Ltd has donated some Christmas inflatables, Wii games, vouchers for presents and selection boxes to entertain and help with rehabilitation exercises.

Jill Holland, Hospital Play Specialist said, "On behalf of staff and patients on the Children's Ward, thank you very much for the gifts you have donated. These will help to brighten up a child's day in hospital over the Christmas period."

Pauline Deans, Sellafield Ltd's community relations manager, said: "We hope this makes the Christmas period a little more joyful for the young people in hospital over the Christmas period.

"We'd also like to take this opportunity to wish seasons greetings to everyone in the community."

Sellafield Ltd is responsible for managing and operating the nuclear sites at Sellafield in West Cumbria and Capenhurst in Cheshire on behalf of the sites' owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. It also has a large engineering and design centre in Birchwood.
