Capenhurst focuses its mind on 20% efficiency savings
The starting gun has been fired for this year’s Capenhurst Lifetime Plan (LTP) at an employee briefing morning in the Workshops.
The session was held to highlight the milestones of each individual area so that all employees would have clear sight of what Capenhurst’s team needs to achieve by the end of the current financial year.
It was also designed to promote the requirement for Capenhurst to achieve its share of six4five, which is the Sellafield Ltd target of making 20% savings by the end of the financial year 2013/14.
Head of site, Nick Welch, said: "It’s essential for all employees to be able to understand what we all need to achieve together this financial year and for individuals to be able to draw a line from their day job, to the milestones for their area and then on to the site’s vision and aspirations.
"This launch is designed to give that extra impetus to the new LTP so that our teams are focused on delivering now and for the rest of the year, at least the same standard and pace as last year."
More than 10 stands were set up to advertise the priorities for each budgetary area, with the owners of those budgets on hand to talk to colleagues from across the site about how their work is connected to the site’s LTP.
Barbara Taylor, from Project Delivery Group, said: "This event has really helped me see how our work fits into the bigger picture. I’m part of the team that delivers asset maintenance tasks, I feel that this event will help me link how my work fits into this year’s lifetime plan."
