Engineering Directorate reaches over one million hours safety record
Safe working in Sellafield Ltd’s engineering directorate has recently achieved over one million hours without a lost time accident. This equates to being accident free for over 858 days - a fantastic achievement for the engineering employees from both the Sellafield and Risley sites.
Dawn James, Engineering Director said: “This is an excellent achievement for us, it demonstrates how much emphasis we put on safety. Our people have made this a top priority and their commitment has paid off.”
The Engineering Directorate’s mission is to support and enable best in class levels of plant availability and production and at the same time accelerate hazard reduction in a safe, environmentally responsible, cost effective and pragmatic way.
Sellafield Ltd’s engineers are world class with many being renowned experts in their field.
Through the effective use of their skills combined with fit-for-purpose application of processes and procedures Sellafield Ltd’s aim is to lead the way in improving nuclear safety through delivery excellence.
