Tap into Talent - awareness session

Additional information: One of the main topics of conversation within the oil, gas and energy sectors is how to address the skills agenda and attract more people into the industry.

NOF Energy in conjunction with a variety of institutions has organised a half day awareness session designed to help you find out how to access the desired knowledge, technology or skills from the UK’s knowledge base.

Presentations will focus on the following areas:

· Subsea Future Talent Project: How sector-wide approaches to skills issues can benefit firms

· Knowledge Transfer Partnership: What they are, how to access them and benefits to you.

Nuclear New Build in Cumbria. Event by the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce Event: West Cumbria Business & Professional Services Forum

In spite of recent catastrophes with flooding in West Cumbria, the longer term plans for nuclear new build are progressing. Three sites in West Cumbria are on the governments short list. Barry Watkinson is a member of the project team which is working to bring at least one reactor to the site adjacent to Sellafield.

In this presentation he will discuss the planning and representations that have been made in terms of infrastructure and economic development in order to ensure that the bid for a reactor will be successful. He will also touch on the consequences for West Cumbria should the bid succeed.
