Low Level Waste: Current and Future Challenges
Autumn 2010
‘A national conference for practitioners and stakeholders interested in understanding the current challenges, learning about the future and gaining an international perspective’
Topic Areas will include:
- Waste Management Hierarchy
- Topical Changes in Regulation
- Current LLW Management
- Future Challenges e.g VLLW, Orphan Waste Streams etc.
- International Perspectives
Recognising the national strategic importance of Management of Low Level Waste, the Nuclear Institute is organising a conference, targeting current, future and international considerations for the Management of Low Level Waste. The event will encompass a 2 day programme, designed by an experienced committee to target both the more experienced and young professionals interested in understanding the key issues relating to Management of Low Level Waste. If there is sufficient interest, the programme may be amended to add a half day teaching seminar directly aimed at those unfamiliar with the key technical issues relating to this aspect of nuclear industry. The majority of speakers will be chosen by invitation, however there remain opportunities for papers to be submitted in line with conference themes. The committee would be particularly interested in supporting submissions from professionals who are seeking to progress to Chartered status and could utilise this as part of their progression.
If you are interested in either the teaching seminar aspect of the event or in submitting a paper, or wish to register an interest in attendance, please contact the Organising Committee Chair at Claire.Gallery-Strong@llwrsite.com
