Scantech International is a survey company specialising in laser scanning and as-built surveys of buildings and process plant. We utilise the appropriate laser scanner allied to traditional survey methods to pcapture the 3D data and to produce 2d drawings, 3D line or solid/rendered models and to output these predominatly in AutoCAD or Microstation.
We have been established for 5 years and are based in the NW England with our technical office based in Romiley.
We have carried out a few site surveys on Nuclear sites including Sellafield and Sizewell B prod8ucing as-built models in every case. These are accurate to 5mm and include all the equipment, room, pipework and cable trays etc.
For outdoor surveys we utilise our Riele Z390 scanner and for indoor surveys we would use the phase based scanner as it is more suited to this environmnet.
The advantages of laser scanning are many and include speed of data capture - up to 500K keasurements per second, safety - no need to access equipment as the scans are carried out from positions of safety, pointcloud can be input into PDMS and only discrete areas modelled, reduces need for re-visits etc
