I & H Brown was founded in 1964 and has grown to an organisation with a turnover of £39.1 million in 2008 and around 200 employees working in Scotland and England. Our headquarters are in Perth and we have regional offices in Warrington.
We operate the full range of systems and procedures that would be expected of a modern contracting organisation. By far the most important is our health and safety management system, which flows from our safety policy into detailed instructions, reporting and monitoring procedures. Our Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management Systems are formally registered OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 9000 - 2000 and ISO 14001 respectively. We were founding founding members of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association in Scotland and the North West. We are registered on several of the standard industry databases including UVDB and Construction Line.
We are active in many parts of civil engineering work. We have particular strength in bulk earthworks, infrastructure, landfill engineering, and land reclamation, through our large plant fleet anjd our expertise in its deployment. In recent years, we developed a reputation for innovative and pragmatic solutions to the remediation of contaminated land. We have extensive experience of standard and bespoke conditions of contract.
We believe in the shortest possible lines of communication from our sites to our directors. We seek to work on a partnership basis with our clients and we consider that this approach has brought significant benifits to all partioes in the projects on which it has been employed.
