Churchills nuclear experience includes the dismantling of 2no chimneys at UKAEA Harwell including the 63m BEPO brick chimney, in addition to dismantling Churchills can claim to be a market leader in the surveying and maintenance of tall structures and the design and installation of lightning protection systems in accordance with BS 4076 1989 and the new standard BS EN 62305:2006 fully implemented in August 2008.

All contracts are planned and managed by NEBOSH in construction qualified and experienced personnel with the training and development of the workforce under the in-house guidance of one of only 2no Steeplejack NVQ Level 3 assessors/trainers operating in the UK.

Churchills workforce completed over 75 hours per man of training during 2008, more than three times our industries minimum requirement and can boast the greatest number of NVQ level 2 steeplejacks of any ATLAS federated member company. All site teams are headed by an SMSTS qualified supervisor possessing as a minimum a steeplejack/lightning conductor linked CSCS card as proof of experience and competency together with a CCNSG safety passport.

The companies achievement has recently been recognised by CSCS with the award of the CSCS Platinum Certificate awarded to companies who can demonstrate a workforce ratio of CSCS cards greater than 90%, this achievement is another first in our sector.

Churchills service is supplied under the umbrella of a Lloyds of London ISO 9001:2000 quality accreditation held continuously since 1995, achievement of ISO 18001:2008, also with LRQA, is anticipated during 2009.
