VINCI Construction UK Limited (VCUK) combines the best of Norwest Holst and Taylor Woodrow, and draws on their longstanding experience in the successful delivery of technically demanding, multi-disciplinary and logistically complex projects. VCUK have had a significant role in each stage of the development of civil nuclear power stations in the UK over the last 50 years, from small design commissions through to large turnkey projects, and covering all aspects of works on nuclear facilities, including safety case preparation, design, substantiation, buildability, testing, procurement, planning, project management, construction, commissioning and implementation. Research and development is also undertaken, supported by our Technology Division, leading to the solution of technically demanding operational challenges.
Current projects include the on-going technical surveillance and maintenance work on existing reactors for British Energy and Magnox North, and design, dismantling, demolition and new construction associated with the Silos Direct encapsulation Plant (SDP) and Box Transfer Facility at Sellafield as well as Care & Maintenance of existing facilities.
From within the VINCI Group, VINCI Construction Grands Projets can input their worldwide experience, which includes their involvement in the design and construction of 70% of the French Energy Nuclear Fleet and specialist high profile projects such as the containment arch structure at Chernobyl and other specialisms in the decommissioning sector.
